Bar menu launches this February 2018
From Monday 19th February 2018, a new bar menu will be available in the evenings alongside our regular set menu.
The bar menu will be around ten to twelve smaller dishes that will feature some lunch time favourites such as the grilled mussels with cider butter and the smoked eel with seaweed and January King cabbage. We’ll also be serving snacks from the evening’s set menu such as the calçot, Stichelton and wild leek flatbreads from the wood fired oven and deep fried artichokes with Cedrat lemon.
The menu is ideal for those coming by after work for a quick drink and snack as well as those for wanting to curate a full dinner at the bar from the dishes off this list.
On launching the new menu, General Manager John Ogier says: “The menu is great for people that might not have time to have a set menu in the evening, and just want to pop in for a small bite and drink.”
Head Chef James Lowe adds: “We’ve been serving snacks and small plates to friends at the bar for a while now, and it brings a really nice dynamic to the restaurant. We felt it was the right time to open it up to everyone.”
Like our lunch menu, the bar menu will change daily, as will the wine that’s available by the glass. We’ve recently started working with Matt Whiley of cocktail bar Scout, meaning there are now a few extra drinks on the menu, including a cocktail with rhubarb, rye and pine.
